Helping citizens to move around in a safe environment in Europe is an important part of the Eastern Partnership, which encourages the mobility of citizens of the EU`s eastern partner countries through visa facilitation agreements and provides rules for managing the return of irregular migrants through readmission agreements. The recent Eastern Partnership Virtual Summit paved the way for discussions on the possibility of visa-free travel between European Union (EU) countries and partner countries, including Azerbaijan. European Council President Charles Michel said after the summit that negotiations with Azerbaijan for a new comprehensive partnership agreement are at an advanced stage.
